MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT, OCTOBER 2025

I would like to begin by thanking our Negotiations and Executive teams in completing the
ratification of our contract. This process started two years ago. Whether you know it or
not, you have a fine group of intelligent and talented people who choose to represent
your interests in all aspects of union leadership. For the many hours, frustration,
repetition and hard work that went into this process, thank you! With raises going back
retroactively to July 1 of this year, this will represent 14 years of increases. For those of
you who have spent their careers in Lindenhurst, you understand how big of an
accomplishment this is.

Additionally TAL was THE BEST represented local in all of Suffolk County at the Tier Six
Rally! To see such a strong representation of our Tier Four members, especially, is a
reflection of all that is right with our Union. Although you may not have a dog in the Tier
Six fight, you still came out and are willing to be part of the change that is necessary to
ensure the long-term integrity of our profession. If you are a Tier 6 member who
attended, I hope this show of unity inspired you, gave you hope, and helped you to see
that you are not alone.

No one can attend those afternoons without sacrifice; and progress is only made by
sacrificing.

I, personally, along with our Executive Council, thank you for taking your personal time to
support the need for fixing the broken concept of Tier Six.
